The mission of the Boone County Regional Training Center is to prepare law enforcement professionals through ethical, effective, and community-focused training that promotes integrity, accountability, and public trust.
A Tradition of Training Excellence
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Center is dedicated to providing Missouri’s law enforcement professionals with the highest standard of education and continuing training. Our programs are designed to ensure that officers are prepared not only to meet the demands of the job, but to excel as leaders within their agencies and communities.

Through a blend of classroom instruction, scenario-based training, and hands-on skills development, we deliver courses that meet and exceed state requirements. From firearms training and defensive tactics to specialized seminars in emerging areas of law enforcement, our curriculum equips officers with the tools they need to keep Missouri communities safe.

The Law Enforcement Training Institute
In 2024, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office assumed management of the Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI), operating in partnership with the University of Missouri. With a history spanning more than 60 years, LETI is one of the oldest and most respected academies in the nation. Its graduates consistently rank among the top performers on Missouri’s Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) exams, demonstrating a level of preparation that sets them apart from other recruits.

By carrying forward this legacy, we continue to offer the state-certified Basic Law Enforcement Academy for those seeking to begin their careers, alongside advanced programs for seasoned officers. Our mission is to uphold the same tradition of excellence while introducing new opportunities for professional growth.
