Every incident, from routine interactions to critical incidents, are documented and evaluated through written narratives that support investigations, administrative reviews, and legal proceedings. Fundamentals of Report Writing equips officers and detention staff with the skills needed to produce complete, defensible, and effective documentation across all incident types.

Participants learn to distinguish between objective observations and conclusionary statements, ensuring that their documentation reflects what was actually observed and done, without assumptions or ambiguity. Key report-writing elements are reinforced through examples, discussion, and review of common errors, such as missing information, unclear timelines, and vague language.
