Course Description
This focused two-hour course provides officers with structured, live-fire training designed to reinforce essential handgun skills in a practical, performance-driven format. The session emphasizes deliberate marksmanship, confident weapons handling, and sound decision-making, allowing participants to sharpen fundamental abilities in a controlled and purposeful environment. All instruction occurs on the range, ensuring that every minute of the course contributes directly to operational proficiency.
This training will strengthen visual processing, target discrimination, and shot accountability, while promoting disciplined trigger control and proper recoil management. The emphasis is on building repeatable performance through measured, intentional repetitions rather than high round-count speed shooting.
Officers will refine essential weapons-handling skills that support safe and efficient gun operation under changing conditions. Through guided, hands-on practice, participants work on smooth, confident manipulations while keeping their focus on environmental awareness and safe muzzle discipline. Each repetition is structured to reinforce economy of movement, proper technique, and the ability to maintain control of the handgun throughout any action performed.
A portion of the training also addresses the officer’s ability to recognize and respond to unexpected malfunctions. Participants practice identifying and resolving common stoppages through gross-motor processes that support reliability in dynamic situations. The instruction emphasizes clarity, simplicity, and consistency — reinforcing techniques that translate effectively to real-world application.
Officers will leave the session with strengthened marksmanship fundamentals, enhanced confidence in their handgun handling, and practical reinforcement of the core skills that support safe and effective duty performance.
