The Taser User Certification course provides initial certification on the X26P (no other platforms in this class) for detention officers and sworn law enforcement officers in the safe, effective, and legally defensible deployment of Taser systems as a less-lethal use-of-force option. This training equips officers with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required to deploy Taser devices safely and accurately in operational settings.

The course begins with a structured classroom session where officers receive detailed instruction on system components, safe handling, target zone considerations, deployment techniques, and operational limitations. Emphasis is placed on understanding how to apply Taser systems appropriately while maintaining officer safety and control of encounters.

Following the classroom portion, training transitions to scenario-based skill development exercises. These exercises allow officers to practice Taser deployment in realistic, controlled situations that replicate the types of encounters they may face in the performance of their duties. Instructors guide participants through a variety of scenarios, reinforcing accuracy, proper deployment techniques, decision-making under stress, and safe integration with other use-of-force options.

Throughout the course, participants develop the ability to assess threats, select appropriate response options, and maintain control of encounters while minimizing risk to themselves, suspects, and bystanders.
